Today I got for you two very common phrases in Syriac-there is /there is not.

it
there is

layt
there is not

Some examples

It b-bayta attta.
There is a woman in the house.

it-there is
b-in
bayta-house
attta-woman

Layt lakhma.
There is no food.

layt-there is not
lakhma-food,bread

Be khanuta let lakhma.
At  store  there isn't    bread.
There is no bread at the store.


These  are also used instead of the verb 'to have' which does not exist in Syriac.
